Hi,

I have just finished building the Xtrakit Meteor Night Fighter and I found the decals to be REALLY delicate. They split trying to take them off the backing at points, never mind moving them into position on the model. Are their decals normally this soft? If they are, how do I go about applying them without them splitting?

Any help or advice would be great as they have some nice sets in the Xtradecal range but my recent experience has made me wary.

James :-)

You may have gotten a bad sheet; I haven't had trouble with the Xtradecals I've used. Putting some Microscale Liquid Decal Film on them before you use them may help to make them a little stronger.

Thanks for your help. I'll give one of the sheets I've had my eye on a go.

Hi James,

Welcome to Aeroscale!

I wouldn't assume all Hannant's own line of decals and kit decals come from the same source. I have a sheet of Xtradecal RAF roundels, and they were very nice to use. They were thin, but seemed pretty strong (I haven't had any problems, and I not particularly gentle).
