Bat:
I know what you are asking. 102's with serial numbers 56-1317 or higher had the Case XX wing, before that they were all Case X and no retrofitting was done was on earlier models. Unfortunately all my references can tell me is the Serial # where it changed, not what year that might have been.
BTW, was the 102 used by the Navy?

Nope, strictly Air Force/Air National Guard.
IIRC, the only fighter/interceptor/attack aircraft used by both services were the F-4 Phantom and A-7 Corsair II. The Navy did use some T-38 Talons (trainer version of the F-5 Tiger) and soem F-16's for aggresor training.

As AJLaFleche nope the 102 was not used by the Navy. It was originally intended to intercept "Bears" before they reached CONUS as part of the Dew line defense system. In VietNam they were used primarily as B-52 escorts. The Navy has never had a love affair with Delta configurations, due to their high stall speeds. The few exceptions have been the F4D SkyRay, A4D SkyHawk, and the C-1 KFIR (F-21A). The KFIR was flown out of Oceana as an aggressor/trainer. Things that fall from the sky at high speed make big holes in flight decks.

hehehe
That's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure before I told Bat-21 that the 102 wasn't eligible for entry into WoW since it's a Naval Aviation campaign. Stug will have to verify this since it's his campaign, though.

Hi All,
Two others: A-1 Skyraider and the A-3 Skywarrior/B-66 Destroyer.

The IR sensor used on F-101, F-102, F-104, F-106, F-110---F-4 and several '50's and '60's vintage Navy fighter/ interceptors, noteably the F-8 Crusader, was used for target acquisition for IR guided Falcon AAM's and early to mid-production Sidewinder AAM's
