I am told both pilots survived.

Stephen,
Were these two events related or just by time? Where were the accidents and what were the circumstances if you have any more info?
Some very beautiful hardware getting trashed; hate it when that happens!

Yep, this was at Duxford, in England very recently I believe. This is also the event where a Douglas AD-1 Skyraider was clipped in the wing by the vertical stabilizer of a North American P-51D! The pilot of the Skyraider landed alright, the Mustang pilot had to bail out. Thank god he had enough altitude to do so! Russell

The first photo is the one in Duxford July 10th. The second was taken in Genesco NY on July 9th after an engine failure.

Sad as you say, great the pilots are alive, and the plane some months in hangar for repairs and surely will fly again.

Good Lord; three prangs in one Show!?!
No only two, and to be fair the Fokker nosed over during taxiing, not flying. The other Fokker pranged in Genesco New York, just a little far away from Duxford.

Thanks Jessica; even the "eternal Mr. Negative" (Me) found the previous assumption beyond belief. Other then a lot of shop time for the Tripes all is much better.
Cheers,

Honestly the top picture looks almost photoshopped, and inspired by some comic...
The ideal candidate for a 'caption this' contest/thread...
Good to hear all pilots survived though (part of the reason why at least the first picture does look as comedic as it does"...

1. Notice the control corrections... keep the left wing down and turn into the Wash!
2. Though all a bit useless for an 800 Lbs Dr.I, in a 2000 hp "fifteen foot?" prop air blast.
