Here is the ageing Monogram 1/48 scale kit. I built mine strait from the box using my own brand of decals that I have been designing http://bombshelldecals.com/decals/48-BS-0010/index.shtml ). I was always impressed when I have seen these kits finished over the years. I found it hard to maintain motivation and momentum on this build because of the kits pitfalls. The kit has a few hurtles to get past first was the engine nacelles that did not want to fit right. The wing joints need special attention to get them just right. I painted the model with Model Master enamels, weathered it with oils and pastels. It is not an impossible kit to build but it does require some additional patience.

Despite the kits pit falls you've done an outstanding job there Mike.

Mike,
That is outstanding, it turned out great. Well worth the effort put forth. I built one of these as a for a WWII vet right before I joined the Army. You are right about it being a trying build. I have two in my stash now, I just hope one day I can get up the sand to build at least one of them, because as yours proves, they do look so much nicer when they are not in the box.
