For it kit that generated such heated discussion in the Forum, it's ironic that we've seen so few examples of it finished! So it''s very welcome that Steffen Arndt has sent us photos of his excellent build of the Airfix Spitfire Mk.XII.

Looks like a Spitfire to me, and a good one as well. Nice work Steffen.
I really don't like the clipped wing Spitfires, they just look wrong to me

.
Nice to see a pilot in a plane for once

Thanks Rowan for preparation of the pix and Andy for the kind comment!
The pilot is really bad Arnold Schwarzenegger hips up and Danny DdeVito below. Hard to fit in and as I closed up the fuselage first I made my life even harder .. but I wanted it to be OOB (by the rules) the master barrels are a real improvement though.
all the best

Yep, looks like a MK XII to me too

Nice looking model Steffen and even though I've moved up to 1/32 scale I might just get me one of these after seeing this

Well I hope so Steffen, are you a member of the IPMS? if you are then join IPMS Kitmaker and you will have a "home" while you are there

If not we can still give you a place to "hang your hat" and have a chat. I have a trade stand at Telford this year

Hi Mal
if you look at my banner (considering you have not turned it off) yo'll notice the IPMS Deutschland link ... I am the webslave of the Deutschland /Germany Branch and I will be in the middle of all the drunk guys in the overseas section ... despite I do not drink alkohol so I am easy to spot
I hope to come over with Jean-Luc who is not a member of any club .. so maybe you can "sell" a membership to him so he gets free entrance as an exhibitor?
cheers

Nice build Steffen, and like others have said it looks like a Spitfire to me. I do like the clipped wings but just a personal choice.

Hi Steffen,
Nice to see that the Airfix Spitfire can look very good built out of the box. It is the last kit I have purchased. The next will be the Seafire.
I do hope it will work for Telford. I would say the chances are high this year...

Hallo Jean-Luc
vielen Dank!
Ich hoffe das klappt mit Telford! Ich habe Volker gebeten, dich bei uns mit als Aussteller anzumelden ... das ist wegen des freien Eintritts für Aussteller wichtig.
viele Grüße

Hi Steffen,
The overseas area has become a well established part of Scale Modelworld and looks like it's a big social event
It will be great if both you and Santa-Luc can make it. I'm shearing my trade stand with Alexander Glass (
Uschi Van Der Rosten who is, as you can see, is German; we have teamed up to produce "Disc camo masks". So make sure that you both drop by and say hello and we will have a chat

Santa-Luc,
I can happily make you a honorary member of the Bulldogs, consider that done, but you do need to have IPMS membership to get in early, otherwise you have to queue with the peasants

If you send me your details I will happily pay for a 1 year subscription to IPMS membership for you

Hi guys,
Maybe the simplest would be for me to postulate for an IPMS Germany membership. Is this possible Steffen even if I'm... French.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to see the Bulldogs at the show!

Hi Mal and Jean-Luc
I already suggested to Volker Helms (our chairman) that if it is not possible that J-L gets an exhibitor ticket for our "booth" that I would pay him a membership at IPMS Deutschland (or if J-L wants he can do for himself). That really is no problem as we already have foreign members.
But first Volker shall ask if it is possible for non members. I would ask myself, but apparently Paul Tuckey is no longer in charge for the overseas section so I do not know a contact.
all the best and keep on building models

(we are off topic here I guess)

Hi all,
Steffen, yes we are off-topic, but we are under friends so...
It really isn't a problem for me to pay for an IPMS Germany membership. I already write articles in the magazine so...
Let's hope it will work with Telford. Any way is good for me.

Santa-Luc, is there no IPMS in France?
Steffen, I didn't think to ask but, as you are a member of the Kitmaker group and of IPMS Deutschland you also qualify for Bulldog membership, do you want me to make you a member?
