Hello everyone

Decided to pull my big 1/32 Academy F/A-18C out and build it. I am not exactly a fan of the Chippy Ho! decals, I think the jet looks cool, but it is just too loud for me.

Did some looking around and decided on the decal set from Fightertown Decals of the VFC-12 Aggressor Hornets

I also have the Eduard interior set, and the Aeries "Open" exhaust set.

I will try to post some pictures in the next few hours for you. I am looking forward to this and hope you guys like it too

Got some photos here

Here is some of the kit, and the decal set

I have the base layer for the cockpit painted, next will be the left and right consoles to be painted and detailed, and the instrument panel will get the Eduard treatment.

I was looking at the NASA F/A-18C's here at Edwards where I am stationed, and just like in the F-16's I work on, there is some very prominent wearing in the footwells where pilots boots go, you can see the yellow/green primer and below that, some bare metal shows

I am going to try and replicate this

Hi Chandler.
Looking forward to seeing your progress with this build. Great choice. I nearly bought this kit a few weeks ago when it was offered at a very good knocked down price. I dithered a lot wondering whether I really needed it. By the time I thought yes I do want a large F/A-18, they'd all gone off course
All the best.

My plan in the future is to have this one and the Trumpeter F/A-18F Super Hornet with Jolly Roger markings next to each other.

I will post some pics tonight, I got the control stick painted and detailed, and I weathered the floor of the cockpit
