Thanks guys,
Mal, the horses are decals I'm afraid
Only other decals are the "Millie G" name, (which is the correct colours), the pilots details ,the kill markings and the stencils around the fuel fillers.
The checked nose, prop, red stripe, national marking and code letters are all painted on.
And yes, I did build the staff car that come with the kit

Nigel:
I just found the images of your work on the 'The Millie G', very nice job. I was hoping you can answer a question for me.
I am doing a P-51 that has a colour scheme fashioned after the same scheme as the 'The Millie G'. I have not been able to find a reliable reference that tells me the colour of the undersides of the horizontal stabalizers. Are they natural metal of the same green as the aft fuselage?
Thanks
Doug

It wasn't, in fact, a horse; the C.O., in a book, said that, because of the discomfort of sitting, for hours, on a parachute, they painted a "red ass" on the tails.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Bit of a "blast from the past" as this was originally featured last August.
Doug, underside of horizontal stabs were bare metal, the green was only on the top surfaces.
Very interesting about the tail markings Edgar, thanks for that
Thanks all,
Nige
