Hi,

I'm working on Trumpeter's F9F-2 Panther and the painting instructions call for H364 Deck Blue.

Now, I don't use Mr Color paints - I don't especially care for them. I like to use Tamiya or ModelMaster Acryl paints. So, I was online looking at the paint conversion tables and none of them list a Mr Color Deck Blue.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what Tamiya or MM paint to use?

Hi Steve: I am currently working on a 1/350 Dragon USS Independence. It also calls for Deck Blue. Their breakdown is - 45% H42 (Model Master 2055 Blue Gray)
- 45% H54 (Model Master 1717 Navy Blue)
- 5% H2 (Model Master 1747 Black)
- 5% H3 (Model Master 1503 Red)
This is the only breakdown for deck blue that I could find. It is in the instructions for the Independence.
Hope this works for you.
Bob

USN aircraft were painted overall 15042 dark sea blue. Model Master 1717 is your match.

Jessica and Robert...

THanks for the advice. I'll give both a try. I haven't done any aircraft modeling in over 20 years, as I'm primarily an armor builder. I decided to get back into aircraft after visiting the USS Intrepid museum.

Thanks for the advice.

Steve
