Here's my latest model from Trumpeter. The idea was to make a clean model, so after painting the model was oiled very lightly and no chipping was added. The model was easy to assemble. The fuselage needed some sanding especially in front and belly. The only complain is the quality of the rockets.

The pictures look fine to me... and it looks like you did a really nice job of the kit too!

I especially like the picture of the under surface.

The top surface camouflage is interesting. I didn't realize the Su-15 was ever camouflaged. I'm used to seeing it as a front line interceptor.

Old fighters never die, they just get sent to second line units?

Thanks for comments! Yes, pictures look fine again. I cleaned my computer from browsing data and problem was solved. But I don't really understand how this affected on pictures...

And yes, there were camouflaged versions too. Here's one of them:

I notice that the model's stabilators seem to have a severe anhedral that the pictures don't show. Is that a feature of the kit?

Yes, it's a feature and trumpeter's 1/48-model has the same problem. I think they should be like this:

I think a little careful bending would yield a result close to that. Pity that Trumpeter so often gets things almost right.

Well, I was so impressed with how this kit turned out, I ordered on from Squadron!! My first Trumpeter kit in fact! I hope it turns out half as well as the one on this thread. Russell

I just had a look at the instructions online and can't find anywhere where it shows the the elevators with anhedral..

Can't blame Trumpeter for this one...

I agree with you Sven, very well done. Just need to bend those elevators up a little bit.. carefully!!

I wouldn't do that because there's already a little gap on the belly between fuselage and elevators.

Hi there Senjor. What colors did you use on your camoflauge on the Su-15? What manufacturer as well. The only manufacturer that made modern Russian air colors that I recall was Polly Scale and they've gone belly up!! Thanks in advance. Again, great job. Russell

I used Vallejo model air colors:

-russian green, camouflage green (lightened with gunship green)

and model colors:

sand yellow, brown

Both green colors were too dark, so I lightly sprayed the whole model with mixed light grey and sand yellow.

Senjor,

Excellent job! I have to admit that for my money, the Flagon is aesthetically the best looking second-generation fighter, bar none (even compared to my beloved F-104). It is one of the few aircraft that looks as good in profile as planform.

Good work!
