building was basic..it started with sub-assemblies and during my freetime..progress was made...

details are nice..and easy...though little instruction on the painting..i did a research on the internet for basis.

looking good ..

thanks guys. i got it from dragon's instruction sheet..followed the pattern and painstakingly masked the wings and fuselage. tamiya masking tape is really a big help. will post some pictures later how i did..tamed the sharp edges. little details on the paint chart managed to mixed a few this and that then came up with the right hue. weathering will surely neutralize..the problem. thanks again.

hi guys..here's the latest on 'The Bug'...

there's a bug in my soup...!

disaster..! applying the bug was not easy..and while placing it on the surface..produced cracks and gaps.

..the only thing to do now..is cut the damaged area and do the hard way..draw and hand paint the head..

rear side..with retouched painting on camou.

comment and suggestion are welcome..thanks everyone..!

Love the work and the paint job, very different from what I've ever seen.
Shame about the decal but I'm sure even the best modeller in the world would have trouble with that.

Look forward to more builds.

thanks Matt..decal sometimes don't work on curve and conical shape..best solution i did was cut the head. check out the work in progress pictures of .."the head"...

penciled the head..removing it by portions..easy to draw this way...

looking good..

Hi Ed,

Great work you have done here!
The instrument panel is just plain stunning - how did you do that?? I have never been able to dry-brush anything so nice.

I think you solved the decal-problem in a cool way. If it was me I would paint the complete insect the same way you did with the head though, just to make it consistent.

Very Nice job done! Really Nice restoration of the nose decal. Must have been dissapointing when it started to crack.

thanks Ronald...yep it was..luckily the body and wings can be salvaged. the head cut-outs didn't quite match the shape of the nose cone. well i guess..we must be prepared on situations like these. thanks again. Ed

A very nice build.

I've got two Bf110's in 1/48th scale to build sometime, one a Dragon kit and the other an Eduard.

I just hate it when decals crack as you're trying to place them. In some cases it's their age, but when it's a new kit, that's bad if they crack up. You did a great job hand painting the nose art, from what I can see on the photos, it blends in okay.
