I have a 50 year old manufacturer's display model of an Aero Commander 500 in approx. 1/35 scale. It has suffered some damage over the years to the paint, was was recently broken by my children (fuse and wing assembly separated).
I tried to send it to Westway models in Ramsgate, Kent, but it got held up in customs. I was willing to pay the charge, but I can't get any cooperation from Westway. No matter what I write to them, they simply respond "We will not refund the duty". I fear our business relationship is at an end.
Assuming I can get my model back from HM Customs, whom do you recommend to do the repair? I expected to pay between $350 and $400 dollars, so the additional customs charge was unfortunate, but not a deal breaker. I prefer artisans in the UK or US. Please email me if you have any ideas. Thanks.
