Having noticed that there is a complete lack of Welsh Models DC-7s on the interwebs, I've decided to get my model out of its endless holding pattern and get to work finishing it. I had a lot of difficulty getting the wing roots to fit without gaps. Densil designed the model with seperate upper wing root surfaces and a very deep cutout in the fuselage side they're supposed to fit into. I think that he got one of the cutouts slightly too tall because when I sanded out the wing root pieces, the left one had a 2mm gap at the leading edge of the wing. I stalled building the model until I figured out a fix, which I hope works. Here's the model as it sits today:

The fuselage is together, with the wing root problem hopefully fixed.

The remaining parts still need sanding down.

Are you insinuating anything about my DC-7's private life?

That's been repealed. So if my Douglas likes other Douglases instead of Boeings, that's her business.

I have the 1/144 Welsh Vickers Viscount 800. I put the project on hold as I am now building the HiPM 1/48 Shenyang J-6.

Like the fact that Welsh did not include seperate resin parts for the tail. That was the biggest problem on my Viscount. If I do decide to tackle another vac airliner, which I will eventually Ill go that route and not get the resin version.

I liked your other DC-7 build.
