The story of Nieuport N2779 is a unique one. Flown by Lt. Rene Carre' of Escadrille N.112 and brought down by the German pilot Ltn. Pfifer. N2779 was later test flown by Ltn. Pfifer and the wings were seen to fold back in flight. Ltn Pfifer was killed in the crash flying the aircraft he brought down in the first place.

The kit is the Eduard 1/48 Nieuport 17 and the figure is the French pilot offered in the Eduard Nieu. 11 kit. Decals are AeroMaster sheet 48-504 "Silver Hawks - Nieuport 17 Fighters 1916-1917 Pt 1”.
