:-) Excellent looking Stuka!!! Mal,
I can almost hear the " Whistle "
I am very impressed by your work, especially the
interior, and the canopy , very crisped detail
and excellent paint camo.

Great looking stuka !
I have been wanting to try a paint scheme like that one but have been afraid so far to actually try it.
I checked your UK post and see that you did that free hand. This really gives me the spark to start working on one of these schemes for myself and see what I can do.

:-) Thanks guys,
Wayne
Do have a go Wayne. When I did this scheme I used a Badger 200 single action syphon fed airbrush. The trick was correctly thinned paint and air pressure. I will be getting, soon I hope, a double action gravity fed brush, should make these sort of schemes easier. I will always go for the more difficult schemes, they tend to look better. :-) Working out the best way to do them is the hard part :-)

The only thing added to the interior was etched seat belts, the rest is as per the kit. Just painted, washed and drybrushed :-) Weathering was a fading coat of medium sea grey, heavily thinned and applied after the decals were on. An artist oil wash of Warm Grey, Madder Bown with just the mearest hint of black. was run into the panel lines and around detail. This was applied over a Klear (Future) gloss coat (brushed on). Paint chipping was done with a silver pencil, after the matt coat was applied
There was a time when I would have thought I wouldn't be able to do this sort of thing, don't say never, cos you can :-)

He used Xtracolor enamel (Hannants own brand).

Very nice Stuka, something about the Trop scheme that gives it a nice look to the airframe.
Just completed my own Ju-87B, in a desert scheme also. As you did with your Stuka I just added Eduards PE belts and the rest of the kit is OOB, with Eagle Strike Decals. Thanks for sharing. I will post images of my mine hopefully this weekend just have the progress shots ready to post not the final finish.

Holdfast, great job on the Stuka Trop, don't you just love the look of the Stuka! If you have'nt purchased a double action airbrush yet you might want to look into the Iwata line, I purchased an Eclipse model and I love it, a bit pricey but I believe you get what you pay for. Keep up the good work ,Wingman out.

:-) Thanks Michael, yep the Stuka always looks great. I'm building another Trop, "white snake", at the moment :-)
I got my double action airbrush on Friday, it's a Simair. It's very well made certainly on a par with the Iwata. An aircraft modellers tool, unlike the Aztek, which, I'm sure is ment for the dark side of modelling I've not been able to use it yet, 'cos I didn't realise I needed a different hose and connection. Got to wait another week, doh!!

Congrats Mal,
a little gem. You really cracked it!
Also it's a nice illustration to show you don't need masses of AM stuff to make a great model.
The camo is beautiful and for me the weathering is just right.
Thanks
Peter

Thanks, the pics have been "tweaked" a little, I think, as the RLM 79 looks a little reder? than it actually is. It looks a little beter in real life (IMHO) but I'm pleased with it. I can't wait to try some interesting schemes with my new airbrush :-)

I used to have an Aztec with the different tips but I could'nt get tit to work right, mostly the fine line nozzle, I don't know if it was me or the airbrush, Wingman out.:-) Thanks Michael, yep the Stuka always looks great. I'm building another Trop, "white snake", at the moment :-)
