Eduard have published on their Facebook site the pictures of incoming Messerschmitt Bf 109E-1 in 1:48 scale. See the article for more details and of course the pictures.

oh dear.

when this one comes out, I think i'll have to build a simultaneous trifecta of Bf 109Es - Hasegawa, Tamiya, and Eduard.

Not sure how i feel about all those rivets, but at least they look very lightly done.

Is this release really necessary?

In the last year there has been the very good and well detailed Airfix "E" kit in the same scale, there is the apparently upcoming Cyberhobby/Dragon on the way in that same scale, there is the Pegasus Hobbies snap together 1/48th Emil, there has been THREE 1/32 kits in the last two years: Trumpeteer, Eduard, Cyberhobby...

Meanwhile, for the much more produced Me-109G in 1/48th, the state of the art is still the 23 year old and severely flawed Hasegawa kit that has the cross-section too crushed by over 10%... I honestly cannot even look at this kit anymore...

Enough of the Emils for now: The Airfix kit has a good cross-section and only needs a new prop, Zvezda offers an unsurpassable F: It's time to move on to the other variants please...

Hi there

While I agree with Gaston in as much as I'd love to see new state-of-the-art Gustavs (Hint! Hint! Zvezda?... ), I'm also pleased to see Eduard have chosen to begin with the 'E-1 with a dedicated wing mould rather than the awkward resin inserts of the Hasegawa kit. The old HobbyCraft/Academy kit has its fair share of issues, so this is a welcome release for me.

All the best

Are you really serious? Apparently Eduard is willing to put their money where their mouth is so what on earth would motivate you to ask such a ridiculious question? Believe it or not, these companies are in business to make a profit, you're not the ONLY person they sell their product to AND most modelers don't go through life with their handy ruler, magnifying glass and calculater checking their "accuracy". Some people actually just try to have fun. It's just a suggestion but maybe you can take one of those "glass half full self-improvement projects or something and actually be positive in your comments. I for one can't have too many Bf 109s or Spits so I say way cool and thank you. If you don't like a kit or want to "look at it anymore" then DON'T. Just quietly go about your business and quit subjecting all the rest of us to your stupid comments, PLEASE.
