I want to build a 727, this one in fact
I have secured a decal set.
There are three options, Minicraft, Airfix, and vintage Revell
all are readily available on that auction site
are there opinions about these three kits?

Airfix has re released it's 727-200 and it is the one I might choose. You will have to lay the stripe over the windows, let it dry, then punch out the window openings with a toothpick. Then you would need to apply some Krystal Clear into the windows to make them.
The Minicraft 727 I'm not familiar with although I've build the MD-80 and 757 from them. They have solid fuselages with the windows represented as dark spots along the stripe for the fuselage. It really depends which way you want to go and what kind of decals you have secured. Hope this helps some. Russell

The Airfix kit is the best of a bad lot. Unfortunately, unless you're prepared to part with ₳ £o₮ o₣ $€Riou$ ₥on€¥, it's the only game in town. The Revell is a -100 series (where your intended subject is a -200) and the Minicraft has some serious shape errors.
If you can live with the poor shapes, the Minicraft kit will be easier to build.

Thanks for the input folks.
Best of a bad lot...hm. seems the Airfix floats to the top.
Thanks also for the link to Authentic Airliners. Even at twice the price of the consumer grade kits, that is quite tempting and I will have to think about that for a bit.

The first thing you must do to correct the Airfix kit is to remove the "potato chip" fence from the trailing edge and put it on the leading edge instead. I still don't know how Airfix managed to screw that one up so badly. If you're feeling in the mood for putty work, the #2 engine intake needs some blending into the fin.
