Hi there, here's a link to great Vietnam modelling website with some great reference pics of the Loach. By the way is the Dragon Loach still available?

Hope this helps.

If you post this message on RMS, Hugh Mills haunts those posts. He was the pilot of "Miss Clawd IV", the Loach with the shark teeth. He still builds and is a helicopter cop in KC. Nice guy to correspond with and he has a bunch of photos of his bird.

Thanks for the tip, Sabot.
Phil, thanks for the link...Italeri is marketing the DMLchopper in an Italeri box; it's a relatively new release for them, so it is readily available.

Well would you look at that, I have Hugh Mills' e-mail address. I must have read his book 'Low Level Hell' about a thousand times. Not to mention the fact that he'll come in very handy to help me out on a book project I'm working on. Excellent.

Thanks, Chuck!
I had that book years ago; gave up all hope of finding it again. Yesterday, my local shop had 4 copies of it...proud to say I own it again! :-)

There is the UH-1 Huey in Action from the same series. S/S also makes the book titled "Airmobile The Helicopter War in Vietnam"(#6040) by Jim Mesko. I believe this is one that may interest you. It is part of their Vietnam Studies Group along with the various "Air War" and "Ground War" books.

Hi there, I've checked out Squadron/Signal publishers and the book on the UH-1D is out of print. On another subject I picked up the Italeri/dragon OH-6A today and scanned in the decal sheet (Miss Clawd) if anyone out there can figure out how to change the background colour from that annoying sky blue to white they are welcome to the jpeg file which they can then print onto those inkjet decal sheets. This will also allow me to scale them down to 1:48 scale for the old Tamiya loach that I got my hands on, YAY!!!!
