I would love to find a 1/72 scale C-141 to bring to life an idea I have for an inflight parachute drop diorama. I know Anigrand makes this aircraft in this scale but the price is a little steeper than I would like to pay. I do remember seeing another vacuform kit in this scale that was a lot more reasonable but I can't remember the manufacturer or the website where I saw it.

Does anyone here know where I might find such a kit at a reasonable price?

Combat Models offers C-141 A and B models for US$44.95. Be warned that "Combat Models" is not a brand name; it's a description. Most of their kits are very basic, essentially hollow shells with neither details nor decals. This vacuform modelling at its most primitive. The website mentions detail sets available for another $20, but does not say what's included in them. Perhaps you could enquire?

That Anigrand can sell their C-141 for the price it commands says much about the frustration levels of building a Combat Models kit.

that is quite an expensive kit, but Anigrand stuff really is exquisite.
You will not have a struggle, it will be a joy to handle while building, and to behold when complete, let there be no doubt.

I believe Dragon just announced a C-141, but I believe it is 1/144. But yes, a 1/72 scale version would be great, especially with 63rd Military Airlift Wing markings...

While you are considering your options consider this.

The Anigrand 144th scale C-141A kit costs US$102 delivered.
The box contains some bonus kits I'm interested in.
If I bought the box set, Id be willing to give up the C-141 for $50 .
just an idea...

Are we talking the 1/72 Anigrand kit or is it 1/144. My idea is to depict the aircraft in flight by using a mirror and to actually have a jumper or a jumpmaster in the door. This would be a relatively straight forward build in 1/72 but a lot more difficult and the finished product much less appealing in 1/144.

If you are purchasing a box set in 1/72, then I will absolutely purchase the 141 for $50.

Sadly it's the 1/144 that has the extra kits in it. The 1/72 is all by its lonesome.

I thought that was the case. I guess I will have to start saving my pennies for the 1/72 Anigrand kit.
