... on the side panels of the fuselage of the FE2b? Wire? Cord? Leather?
Also, what diameter do you reckon it would be?

The short answer is bleached or unbleached linen cord. For a bit of fun start here. See images 85 & 86.

Thanks Stephen. I just ordered some #92 micro drill bits to drill out the grommets to lace the "canvas" panel in with some .006 wire.

Yes I did notice that. Clicking on the the caption instead of the picture brings up both the picture and the full caption.
