Help with German spiral on the nose

Hi all .. i need some help with panting the white spiral that the luftwaffe had on the nose of their aircraft .. has anybody got any good tips or techniques on how to do this ?? Im working in 1/48 scale..

Paint the base colour (usually white), then draw the spiral with a pencil. Using thin masking tape, mask the spiral then paint the top colour. If you have a steady hand, you can paint without masking. Here's a step by step tutorial.
