Ok its got to be a younger gen thing but I have to note some interest. From the ARC (one of our advertisers)

In the builder's own words, ". . .A not so accurate version of Richthofen’s Valkyrie Fighter from the animated steam punk film “War of the Worlds: Goliath” (yet to be released). It was made for a friend who is one of the producers of the movie. The model started with 2 Academy 1/72 SPAD XIII kits and took about 3 months to complete. . ."

Its the only build I have seen of the 1/72 Academy Spad that amounted to much.

I actually like it.

Perhaps such creations may not have a place in this forum but I am glad if kids are inspired to get into the hobby. A number of them will become interested in prototype modeling. Perhaps we should encourage them as mentors, as this site is already known for.

Our site is about modelling and be it "What Ifs", Dioramas, Flying Scale, (to name only a few) or just plain "flights of Fancy" I guess it's all good, especially if it motivates new comers or Kids to get into the hobby as per JP's comment.
For myself as an ardent History Nut I'm with Terri, I'll stay to the application of AMS, research, and sucking the brains of the incredible knowlege and talent available in our very special group to producing accurate representations of the golden age of flight.
I won't say I don't like it however not my personal cup of tea. All offered in a positive context of course, and no different then the preference I have for this forum above the others. ( I agree with our Host Moderator - a special/separate forum would be good)
Cheers,
Lance(beyond that )
