Hi all,
I am just about to start 1/48th Tamiya bf-109e-4/7.
I am going to do the ''yellow nosed'' version and was wondering what the true yellow colour is as opposed to Tamiya 3 part paint mix.
Cheers,
Ash.

The RLM's yellow standard was RLM04. It's available from many paint manufacturers pre-mixed.

The only one I am aware of is the Testors Military Master, RLM04 Gelb. I believe it comes in Acrylic and Enamel. I have found the acrylic tough to tape over as it comes up easy, but goes down real nice.

I've seen it from Xtracolor, Xtracrylix, and Vallejo.

Vallejo Air makes a Lemon Yellow, and Life Color does list a Gelb, but I find them a little bright yellowish. I think the slight Orangish yellow that Testors produces is closer to Gelb in my opinion.

Jessica and Kevin,
Many thanks for getting back to me so prompt, I shall follow up your recomendations. The reason I asked was that I have Tamiya yellow XF-3, but it looks far too bright.
Best regards,
Ash.
