Continuing my "No really, it's really real" series, the RAF's He-115. This aircraft was one of the Royal Norwegian Navy Air Service's He-115s that escaped the German invasion. It was used on night reconnaisance and spy-dropping missions to Norway for a short while in 1940. These flights were chronicled in
Confessions of a Nervous Navigator (Sorry, I can't find any evidence of this book online but Wikipedia has a
small history). By mid 1942, all 3 had been destroyed.
The kit was built pretty much out of the box, with the exception of puttying over the centre portion of the greenhouse canopy, which was solid on the Norwegian aircraft. I left off the guns, as the RAF had apparently removed them. The model is nearly a decade old, and has been sadly knocked about. The markings came from generic Modeldecal sheets.
