Hi again folks,
My resin model partners and I [collectively known as Scale Magic incorp Shadoworks Resin Products], who have been contracted to build 36 model aircraft [all in 48 scale], for the RAAF Officer Training School, here in Victoria Australia, [as one of the projects], we have modified the T-6 Texan kit, into a CAC CA-5 Wirraway, most of the alterations are vac form or white metal, when this project is completed a photo will be posted.
As I have a hard copy photo of the aircraft we have used as our refference.
All coments welcome.

I keep looking for someone who built a C5 on 1/35. Problem is : finding a showcase to store it dust-free

Hi there

I've known Bob Norgren, who runs Sierra Scale Models for many years, and he's a great guy. Sierra do a 1/48 vacuform Wirraway conversion for the Monogram kit, and I'm sure Bob would be happy to help out however he can.

1/35 scale C-5 dustcovers are available in all good camping shops... they're called "family-sized tents"...

All the best

MPM may have the 72 scale kit, which needs a lot of extras to make it right, In 48 scale their is no such kit as it's a conversion, Wartime photo's are easy to get of these aircraft, a friend has the real thing, housed in a museum which he flies from time to time, along with his other aircraft. I have been contracted to build this model as a training aid and so it's build half a model with the other half being a conversion.
There are no decals for this aircraft in production, so that part of the project is mix and match.

This is the old 48 scale Monogram T 6 Texan, modified to the CA-5 Wirraway, built as the subject of choice for the RAAF contract.

The pilot of this aircraft subject was credited with downing a Zero.

It is not the Special Hobby 48 scale offering.
