Hello. I'm going to try my first natural metal finish with Tamiya's wonderful 1/48 P-47 Razorback. Can anyone tell me which Alclad Metal colors I should use on this aircraft. I've read that they make a gloss black that you should use as a primer. Thanks for the help, Wingman out.

Wingman

Check out Nigel's Alclad article here , he gives you some sound advice. You may also want to post over on P-47 Heaven, go to the top of the page and click on the 'browse sites' button then on P-47 Heaven.

Hope that helps and have fun

Hi Wingman. There's a good artical in AIR modeler magazine issue 38,It,s a P51 1/32 and the modeler uses alclad stright onto the polished plastic surface of the model. So i polished up my p47, finishing with a lady's nail buffer stick, sprayed on the alclad and it was fine!.But ime not sure about clear parts? All the best Mick.

Hello. Thanks for the help. I used Alclad's Polished Aluminum overcoated with their wonderful Aqua Clear Gloss[ALC 600]. Decals are from Aeromaster's Wolfepack Pt.IV. Using "Huckle De Buck". The extra paper fule tanks will be in a pile on the ground around the plane. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Hello. The tops of the flaps have their ID bands appiled as with the gear doors. The decals on the oleos are from the kit decals with the stencils on the exterior of the doors from the Aeromaster sheet. Resizing the photo distorted the flap a bit. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Hello. This is my version of a crated prop. Total guessing game. A different prop will be going in the crate. Corner boards will be installed after painting above the tips of the blades. Probabbly attach some tie down straps. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Thanks Damian. Just about done. Have to fix the canopy in place and the pitot tube. Was a little worried using Alclad for the first time, went O.K. I think, thanks to Nigel's informative article. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Beautiful work wingman, your Jug is outstanding! I really appreciate you sharing this with us. It is inspiring me to dig my Trumpeter Jug out of the pile and get to it. Take care :-)

Wow, thanks for the kind comments guys. This is my first aircraft build in awhile since being hooked on building some armor. It's good to be back. I just started Italeri's 1/48 Ju87 B-2 Stuka. The plastic is a bit soft, have to be careful with cleaning up the plastic with a new blade. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Hello. This is the way I'm thinking about displaying this Jug. A small stone wall will go around the perimeter being open in the front. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Hello. The "tarmac" has been applied with wet/dry sandpaper. Talus, a model railroad product from Woodland Scenics will be applied to the wooden sections of trim to form a shallow wall. I'm trying to recreate a cool photo on the title page of the book, Fighters of WWII by Jeffrey L. Ethell and Robert T. Sand. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Hello. The wall has been added. The drums, crate, bucket and trash can have to be weathered and some of those dust particles have to be removed. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Hello. Finished with Tamiya's wonderful P-47D Razorback. Like I stated earlier, this is my first time using Alclads line of paints. I was a little leary at first but went for it and was pleased with the results, still have some practising to do. Thanks to everyone for the advice and kind comments. Wingman out.

Can anyone tell me how to post numerous photos to one post? Thanks.

When you're writing your post, you should be able to click the {img} button on the bottom of your composing window as many times as you want to. That inserts the forum image embedding command which looks like this:
{img}http://put.url.here/image.file{/img} (Except that the brackets are square instead of curly. I did them culy to make the command show up)

Then all you do is paste in the URLs of all the pictures you want to show up. Paste it right overtop the "http://put.url.here/image.file" which is just a placeholder.

There, that's done with. Now, would you like to see your model get its very own feature? It looks nice enough that I'd like to put it on the front page for everyone to see. Can you send me the pictures and a little write-up about how you built it?

Thanks R. That's very kind. I have another one of these in the stash that will be built later, not sure what finish it will have. Jugs have been one of my favorites also, Ha Ha Ha. Thanks for the kind comments.Wingman out.
