1980 issue of the LTV A-7D Corsair II, developed from the Vought F-8 Crusader as a attack aircraft. The "D" is a USAF variant that replaced the two Mk12 Colt 20mm cannons, fuel probe and Pratt & Whitney TF30-P-6 turbofan with a M61 Vulcan 20mm gatling gun, fuel receptical and Allison TF41-A-1 turbofan.
Decals included are for 356th TFS Green Demons, 354th TFW from Myrtle Beach, SC and 357th TFS Licking Dragons, 355th TFW from Davis-Montham AFB, Arizona. Both use the South East Asia (SEA) camo of two greens and tan over light grey. Armament is 2x AIM-9 Sidewinders, 2x Mk82 500lbs bombs and 24x Mk81 250lbs bombs.
I'll be building this wheels up so I've used a few pieces of strip and sheet plastic to hold the gear doors together.
Mock up of the A-7.

Hi Michael. Your build is looking good so far. If you are going to build it out-of-box (no aftermarket goodies) you should join us in the Matchbox Flying Nostalgia Campaign HERE . We are all revelling in the glory of the crazy coloured styrene. The Campaign started on March 1 and finishes on August 31.
Cheers, D

D's right. Hop right in. This is just about the most fun GB I've been in around here. Looking good. I'm working on a SLUFF myself, kinda of a hanger queen from the Corsair build last year.

Intake, exhaust and fuselage halves glued together, added a shim to the nose and canopy/fuselage area. I'll black out the inside of the caonpy for a gate guardian appearance.
