This little fighter was designed and built in Australia and first flown on May 29th 1942. A total of 250 Boomerangs were built in total, in a similar fastion to the British Hawker Typhoon, the Boomerang was sucessfull in it's secondary role of ground support.
This particular model was built for the RAAF as a training aide at the Officer Training school here in Victoria. The kit is the old Tasman [resin] 48 scale, the decals are a mixture of other manufacturers, it was built by another friend [from Shadoworks], he decided to share this model with you all and would welcome your coments. the photo is in my gallery.

Hi Rob
That's a lovely model of a particular favourite of mine! :-)
I've got a Tasman (Kiwi Wings) Boomerang, which I've yet to build... it's not resin, but short-run injection- moulded and white-metal.
Ironically, the surface scribing is beautifully fine, but every part will need a lot of preparation, so if your friend's kit is anything like it, he's done a wonderful job producing such a fine model.
Get him to join Armorama...
All the best

In 1997 I visited Australia (also Mareeba, Queensland) - from that moment I'm a big fond of "DownUnder" and RAAF. Just after my coming back, I've built a CA-13 Boomerang in 1/72 (Airfix). Now I've found a Wirrawaye model (MPM). I wish I could buy a bigger CA-3 "bird" (i.e. in 1/48 or even 1/32) but it is not so easy in my country. Maybe one day... - your model looks great. Regards !
