My first modelling kits were the old Airfix 1/72 aircraft which used to sell for 50 cents back in the mid 70s. These days I build mostly 1/35 military, so this is my first time to post on Aeroscale.

While browsing in my LHS which is also a distributor I came across in the corner of their basement a bunch of old dusty kits. I found out they were returned or defected kits and you could buy them at 50% discount - a goldmine for a modeller!

I saw the old Boomerang which fascinated me as a kid because I never saw it for sale. At $3.50, I couldn't say no. Over two weeks I built it OOB and thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't vouch for the authenticity of the scene...I used a little creative licence.

I bought the Italian torpedo bomber SM 79 for $5, so I plan to do a desert dio next.

Stay tuned...

Great job Brett, a very nice build and an effective little diorama as well.

Cheers, D

Thx Damien and Russell.

You don't need a lot of money to turn out a decent diorama. I think altogether it cost me about $10 - a bargain in today's prices.
