I am currrently building a TX ANG F-4D in the Hill Grey Scheme. The boxing of the Fujimi kit I have only has the paint schemes for Euro I and SEA birds. I have cobbled together the markings for the jet I am building.

I want to build it with all the fuel tanks fitted. Can someone tell me what colour(s) were used on the tanks, the darker (gunship) grey or the lighter grey?

As originally specified, the tanks were dark grey, but you'd often see tanks painted in older schemes applied. Perhaps one could be Europe 1 or even camouflage grey from the old SEA scheme.
