There were two types of fighter aircraft that were developed in WWI. Low altitude - rotary engineed and High altitude inline stationary types. Taurus Models brings us their 1:48 version of the LeRhône 9J which powered allied fighters like the Nieuport 17, Sopwith Camel F.1 and others. Lets take a look.

This is actually a shot of an 80hp LeRhône but gives you the impression of their weight and the handiwork these motors required.
