Here's another of my crazy questions. The first F6F Hellcat kill was by Lt.(jg) Richard "Dix" Loesch of VF-6 on 1 Sept., 1943. My question, does anyone know the side number of the aircraft he was flying? I've seen pictures of F6Fs of VF-6 from that time, but don't know what number that particular plane was.
