this is a little idea that I have just formulated. Why don't we give the light bomber/ pathfinder/ fighter bomber a spotlight?
personally I think that this would make for an interesting campaign with plenty of scope and variety and could really bring up some seriously fun builds for everyone to jump in on an simply have a little fun!
SO who's with me?

Would the A-26 count as an entry? Russell

Hi Simon
Are you going to post a list of the AC allowed in campaign?

I think that such list would be endless. Most jet training aircraft can also count as light bombers.

Hi,

it depends from the time lines but i could be interested with a Hawker Tempest (if this sort of plane is allowed).

The type of AC you choose to model could be anything as long as it can fulfill a ground attack role i guess but of course nothing too big, after all this will be a 'light' bombers campaign if it ends up going ahead because it may not. I still have to hear from the top brass before anything can be set in stone.

welcome aboard!! The more the merrier!
I've already decided that I'm going to enter a De Haviland Mosquito mk XVIII. Still have to decide weather I'm going to arm it with rockets or bombs though.........
If any of you want to equip your models with rockets or something that's fine because I'll allow pretty much anything light that can carry out a ground attack role.

Sounds like a good one.
I'm planning on building a Mosquito VI in IDF markings that would fit right with this campaign.

As long as you can get 10 people interested in this thread then I can't see the campaign being a problem.

If I can keep my gb in order and finished on time I will chime in with a IL-2. Love that plane with a little pop gun of a 37mm sticking out of it.

With reguard to start and finnish times they are pretty flexible but I was thinking of perhaps starting in August/ September and finishing around January/ Febuary/ March time. That will give plenty of time to get some really good builds done hopefully!

Hi Simon

The campaign admins will decide the start date if there are enough interested in the campaign. We currently prefer to start one campaign a month. Any submitted campaigns that have enough interest are approved on a first come first served basis and are assigned the next available month. Currently any approved campaigns will be starting in November onwards.

Cheers

Hi!

I also have a 1:48 Italeri Il-2 in stock for that campaign.
Or I take my 1:48 Revell Aichi D3A.

The campaign idea sounds good to me!

I have plenty of bomber kits that need to find their way to the work bench. All that is required is the right reason (read: excuse).

Color me interested.

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. I might suggest tightening up the qualifications before making this an official campaign.

O.K here are some tightened up qualifications for the campaign (thanks for the suggestion Fred I thought they might be a little vague!)

Any aircraft designated as a light bomber, fighter bomber or a ground attack fighter are allowed.

That should clear up most confusion over entry allowances.

Also I just picked up P-38 Lightening in 1:48 from academy so that gives me an alternative/secondary entry because I'm a quick builder!!

If the campaign times work out for me I will either bring in a 1/144 A-10 or P-38. I am basically on hold until February

Well as Allen has sad this campaign probably won't start until November anyway so you having to start in February should be no problem!

I'm also considering entering a double build in this if it goes ahead because I just picked up a P38 in 1:48 scale from academy with parts to build the "droopsnoot" varient which was to all intents and purposes a light bomber with a crew of two and a norden bombsight in the nose for the bombadier! the only problem is that there were no crew figures included with the kit so (going off topic a little here) dose any one know if I can get hold of some 1:48 american air crew figures and if so where from?
