Has anyone ever actually managed to build the half-baked Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Vc?
I bought one when it first came out, but gave up after knackering the fuselage trying to get the tropical filter to fit and being defeated by the overly thick wings. After getting a replacement fuselage from Airfix (they even sent new filter parts!) I ended up finishing it as the Vb.
Fast forward to the present day, I find myself with a couple of Airfix Vb's I bought cheap from a charity shop and the wings from the C kit. I really would like to have another crack at it, that four cannon armed SAAF bird on the decal sheet does look pretty awesome. So if anyone has done it succesfully whats the secret?
I really do think that Airfix missed a trick by not doing a completely new Vc rather than this half-a***d kit.
All help is appreciated.
