This is the story of men like Oswald Boelcke and Lanoe Hawker VC, who did not start in the de Havilland 2 or Albatros, yet refined air fighting in those second generation biplanes.

Nicely done! The "Duel" series is great it takes two aircraft types at the front at the same time and ties them together with some of the great early dogfights.

This is one of the most balenced DUAL books. Some interesting Points:
1) Boelke didn't wear a seat belt; thus a survivable crash killed him.
2) The DH 2 had the same control/torque problems as the Sopwith Camel a year later. (It tended to kill the inexperianced.)
Very good book.

Just dont use the illustrations for reference. Starting magneto on the D.II in the cockpit illustration is as the D.V. On the D.II it was under the spark advance lever. Still the illustration is really nice, I imagine the books great reading.
Still can't cure the AMS even with sausage finger implants & olde eyes.
