Hi James, this is a good little kit. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. Thought I would share a couple of photos of the finished product that I built a couple of years ago. Take a look. Keep building! Russell

P.S. I can't wait to see what you do with yours? Are you going to use the decals that came with the kit?

P.S.S. You need a canopy for this kit? I may have one, I will look if you need one.

nice bird russell! I'm going to try the kit canopy and slowly build up the gap with canopy glue! Or try too. Kit Decals, without the mouth i think, I'm not going for accuracy, just a throw together look nice build!
thanks for thre feedback.

Looking forward to seeing your build completed James. Go get 'em! Russell

P.S. The RAF decals which come with the kit might make a nice look too!

RAF it is, could only paint it olive though. and unfortunately, the satincoat darkened it 100% more than i thought it would.

working with oils atm! any ways of fixing the prop blades back on , i have no pin vise, and they keep coimng off.

You can do minor drilling with the tip of your hobby knife if you're very careful and don't go too deep. Then stretch a little sprue to make the pins.

Yep, parts with that small contact surfaces are nigh impossible to get glued. It's best to pin the joints.

Looking good! Looking forward to seeing it done.
Oh, one more little thing. You seem to have gotten the gunsight backwards.

Thanks, Pinning it is. Well i'll attempt it...
I am going to leave the gunsight as is, usually it would bother me, but as this is a quickie build i'll let it slide

Ok, i need an opinion on my upper oil wash, so far I am doing a slight dusting, think, Italy, dry, dusty in summer. I am not aiming for a consistant coat, just a light dusting really. i may fade some panels, I am not sure yet.

thoughts..?

EDIT.

It looks better in person, the photos do not do my dusing any justice. although i see a few touch ups e.t.c

Looking good James! I think I'd leave it the way it is, but I don't tend to weather my models either, so what do I know?

Could it be that the backward gunsight is affecting the fit of the canopy? IIRC there's not a lot of room inside that windscreen even when it's the right way around.

Hi James, I would paint the exhaust steel then go over them with some rust colored paint. That is what I did at least. Anyone else want to chime in that would be fine too. Take care James, Russell

I find that painting them flat black then drybrushing with rusty red-brown looks really good. Then finish them off by a brushing of graphite powder for the slightly metallic look.
