I have always loved the Don Greer painting of the P-400 on the cover of Squadron's "P-39 Airacobra In Action."
And I am about to build a P-400 using some Ministry of Small Aircraft Production decals representing the cover paicture.
But it hit me-- weren't the P-400s all refused RAF contracted planes shipped to the Pacific for use by the USAAC? If so they would all have a factory applied RAF paint scheme. The cover picture is OD over NG, as is the called for decal paint scheme.
I know it's my model and I can do it however I would like. But I thought I'd ask for some information one way or the other as to if the plane existed as represented or if it maybe had the RAF paint job.
Any info is appreciated.
Thank you
Ken
