A few pics of the Airfix crew for the 1/24 scale Mosquito after priming but before painting. I am doing this for an ex-pilot who wanted the aircraft 'flying' and it will be in a climbing turn to port, with just the slightest bit of input. The pilot is looking where he is going and the 'alligator' is looking back (Richard said that that was always a good idea!). These are very 'soft' cast so it is a chore detailing and painting them so I am getting this done before some good after-market sculpts come out to tempt me.

Pretty much painted, they have to be 'belted in' to the cockpit and finished.

Hi Dan
Nice job. Learning to paint figures is something I've always promised myself I must do! The "alligator" looking round is particularly effective.
All the best

I do hate to nitpick, but the rank lace should be light blue rather than gold unless they're RAAF.

Thankyou, serves me right for working from a black and white pic and not double checking!
Further checking reveals that the short tunic used slip-ons on the shoulder straps anyhow. A little touch-up in order.

Now to try and make half decent seat harness.

After forum input and a bit of research I think I have come up with a crew that 'works' even though if I were to do it again I would try to find some 'basic' figures and start from square-one.

Here we observe the majestic Mossie Crew in their natural habitat. Shhhhh! Don't make any noise or you'll scare them away!

Great work Dan! They look really good under the canopy and the extra detail like oxygen hoses and headset cables tops them off nicely. Are the props powered by motor or painted perspex discs?
Have to be a little disapointed by Airfix's soft detail on the figures. Its detracts somewhat from what is a fantastic kit. I have noticed the same in most of the new kits I have from Airfix, very poor figures compared to older kits. I think it must be the new figure sculptor they employ.
Hope he likes it!
