Friday 07 September 2012 02.33am ,my mobile rings just as I'm blind side reversing a 40 foot 43 ton lorry on to a dark loading bay.
Mrs Torch is in tears,a large picture (A1 size) has fallen off the wall in the hallway of our house and taken out the shelf beneath it,this shelf contained some of my most prized builds, the stairs are covered with broken glass and plastic.
Truck get thrashed (51mph restricted) the 46 miles home and
dumped in the bus stop nearest my house.
Mrs Torch has cleared the stairs and left the victims in a make shift morge on the dining table

So my proposal with a difference is "Operation Phoenix"
a never ending campaign to repair and restore the casualties of war(or home accidents)as they occur.
All scales ,all kits, they all can become victims
What do you think?

So sad! The destruction of your beautiful models. I hang my head in your favor, and hope you'll pull through and build again.

But thats the spirit, isn't it! To build on! Leave these sad times behind.

A minute's silence for the fallen warriors Torchy, then a fortifying glass of red (or perhaps 2), then off to the workbench and out with the CA tube!

I'm feeling your pain mate, but I think the never-ending Campaign idea has merit, and I'm sure there are plenty of us out there with a "box of bits" that will fit the requirements. My story relates to my 2 sons dogfighting with my kits around the house, and the loser typically gets thrown down the stairs in a ball of flames, so I have quite a few contenders.

Good luck with the rebuilding.

Cheers, D

Gutted for you mate

I dunno about a never ending campaign, but I would certainly be up for a Phoenix campaign - I've got several models that were badly injured in our house move ~5 years ago that I've always wanted to redo, but never got round to. Even bought some decals for some of them.

Definitely unfathomable, may we all have a moment of silence for these fallen warriors. Is this a proposal for a group build?

Nothing worse, all that work, now more work ahead. Sorry about the accident. That is why I am afraid to take my models anywhere unless they are sealed up in a plastic container. Russell
