Hi Guys I was wondering if anybody has a set of plans for the Andover I'm converting a vac form kit and I need cross sections of the tail as after looking at the photo's I realise the tail and tail planes are on what appears to be a hump of some sort and not as I first thought a straight fuselage. Anybody ever done the conversion of the Formaplane 1/72nd kit?
Cheers
Chris

Welsh Models does a 1/144 kit1 that you may be able to take proportions from. According to this thread over at Britmodeller, the Formaplane kit has problems of its own.

Hi Jess! helpful as always Jess, yes I'd found the Welsh miniatures kit and had contemplated doing exactly that. The vacform kit is a job for another modeller and I'd like to do as good a job as my skills and information will allow and I'd like drawings to confirm I'm going the right direction. Drawings of any sort of this aircraft seem to be like finding fabled rocking horse excreta.

The only drawings I've been able to find online are the commercial version. Maybe you'll have to work from photographs instead.

Thanks Jess I'd only been able to find the commercial version as well. Although I've got a request for information in with the RNZAF museum and I hope that will provide me with drawings and if not they have a wealth of photographic material. And I think I'll also purchase the Welsh models kit from Hannants so I can get a better visual idea of the shape of the aircraft.

HI Guys just a note to let you know that the Rnzaf museum's keeper of photo's has emailed me back saying he has a large amount of photo's of the back of the aircraft which he'll scan and send to me so I can select those I want. If anyone would like a copy of these photo's PM me in a couple of weeks time as the gentleman concerned is off on a weeks leave as of today.
