Is there no "Special Interest Group" for the P-51 Mustang. I know, dumb question but I had to ask. It seems that there was more widespread Allied use of the 'Stang and more variants than the Thunderbolt. Don't get me wrong, the P-47 is my second-favorite fighter but it would seem that the Mustang would be a popular favorite. Before I start rambling on, I'll sign-off for today.

I'm eternally stunned that there's a section devoted to any single airframe. Variety is the spice of life. I can only stare at a beautiful aircraft for so long, let alone a mug like the 47 or a runner-up like the 51 (sorry but Spitfires, 109's, A6M's and MC202's are just a few of the more attractive airplanes I can think of.)

Very good point there Ray! Spitfires might also be a candidate though. Very sleek aircraft!

It's all subjective really. I personally feel the Italians produced some of the sleekest looking birds of WWII. The Macchi 202 and 205 are perhaps the best looking planes of the war in my opinion.

It is all up to personal choice, so very true. I agree that the Italians are neglected. They did produce some very interesting designs, even their bomber aircraft like the Cant Z 1007. Very nice indeed. Russell
