Hi ,
I'm doing the Italeri Sukhoi. It's been my first aircraft in years. I took the Sukhoi Campaign as an excuse to bring some birds back to the bench.
I'll keep my progress, questions & problems in this build log.

That's it so far. Still a lot to be done.
It's been so long I feel like it's my first aircraft build.

John,
I think you are making the cockpit as a tank!!!!
What are you doing in the dark side of the force?
By the way, the kit is not the best model of the Berkut, you will need to work my friend

Hi Jose !!

Well to be accurate, I started as a teen in the dark side building aircraft, then switched to tanks.
Then 10 yrs ago I restarted some aircraft, then stopped again 3 yrs ago I think... well I'm back.
I only have Sukhois & Tupolevs in stash so the Super Sukhoi Campaign was a great excuse to restart.

Thanks for looking and warning me about the dark side

I'm still feeling around, after being away it seems I'm building my first aircraft and I'm 12 yrs old again ..

This afternoon's work

I noticed some mistakes along the way, poor fitting, bad masking, bad decals... I guess the best way to learn is making mistakes and trying to correct them
Still a lot to do.
I hope the next Sukhoi will turn out better!!

John,
This month? Really fast!!!!!!!!! For me is imposible.
I just read in armorama that somebody makes a campaign of big cats....
I´m looking in my stash and I see Tiger, Panther, King Tiger, F4 Wildcat, F6 Hellcat, F-5 Tiger II, F-14 Tomcat..... and the list is growing up
I need more time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jose, feel free to join the BigCats Campaign, you have a lot of choices there ! don't worry about the timing I'll give an extension for sure !

I'm still working on the wheels of the Berkut !
The canopy is going to be tricky..

Hi Jose,

I wasn't quite sure if I could mask it very well.
I didn't turned out as bad as I was expecting, but I know it isn't perfect..
I also managed to loose one small antenna, flew off the tweezers.

I'm working on masking some light grey/white parts.
I will be posting some photos very soon.

Thanks for joining my Campaigns

That's it, the final photos:

The only problem was that the masking tape took a part of the decal...here, just below the cockpit:

I only noticed when it was too late, so apart from this and the small antenna missing, I call it done !

Thanks Jose !!!
I'm hoping to improve them, one aircraft at the time.. I guess after a few birds on the bench big problems turn into small issues
