Hi there

I'm going to do things "back to front" for a change and tackle the new Dassault Mystère IVA from Azur-FRROM as a Blog before posting the review.

It's a great chance to snap out of the non-building rut I've got myself into - plus a chance to tackle an unusual subject:) So, nothing like a bit of self-imposed pressure to get me going... time to start cutting parts of sprues! More soon.

All the best

Hi again

Sorry, nothing to show yet, but contrary to expectations I am working on the build! It's going together nicely, but one change I'm making to what the instructions suggest is to shut the mainwheel doors to match most of the photos I've found of the aircraft.

I'll hopefully get a chance to take some pics at the weekend.

All the best

Hi Rowan
Looking forward to your build. I am just putting together the Armée de l’Air release and the instructions do suggest gluing the main gear doors shut. The same goes for the Israeli release.
All the best.

Should we be preparing to dump our Matchbox kits on Fleabay?

Good question Jess, but not one I'm qualified to answer as I don't have the Matchbox in my stash. But the Azur/Frrom kit I think is very good, especially with the extra resin and PE bits. the only thing it's missing is weapons and fuel tanks.
All the best.

Here's an entertaining look inside the Matchbox box.

Hi Tim

Sorry, you're right - my post was misleading. In my haste I missed out the word "early". The doors don't match the openings exactly, so I've attached them before closing the fuselage halves and run in a little "supafiller" (CA +talc) from the inside to seal the gaps.

All the best

Hi Rowan.
Yes the U/C doors are rather small for the opening. I used stretched sprue to fill the gaps. Other than that the Mystère IVA is going together nicely.
All the best.
