It looks great, but only a single aircraft was built? I suppose we won't see a great many marking options then

That's what I thought first but then I checked few websites and all of them were giving the same information. I hope it was not just "ctrl+c => crtl+v" from one site to another. I really woudn't like to mislead anybody so if I'm wrong please correct me as soon as possible.

I have just checked a couple of references and it seems to be correct, but then my references have been know to be suspect on occasion ! Perfect opportunity for a "What-if" build to me.

Valom have boxed a braille scale version a while back.

Cheers, D

All the same the TBD was a good looking floatplane! I can see folks building "what if' models.

Oddball indeed!
I was quite surprised, when I saw the CAD first. My thoughts too were: Lot's of What-if's come to mind.
Coast Guard, spotter plane, civilian island hopper... Admittedly I am not a great What-if fan, but I can see some very inspirational work coming up.
Cheers,
Guido
