There is also a F4U-1D Corsair in the series as well. I saw these kits at my LHS and was impressed with the recess panel lines and that the a/c comes with an engine as well as the price! When I build my Corsair, the assembly pins were big, for a moment I though it was a snap together kit. Certainly not Tamiya, but for around 10 USD, it is great value.

I only have the small photo to go on, but the canopy is too wide & looks flattened at the front, the fin & rudder are the wrong shape, there is no gull wing under the wing roots and the wing bomb racks are in the wrong place. That should be enough to put you off, indeed it looks almost as bad a Starfix mould. There are loads of reasonable Spitfire IXs available both new and second hand at a reasonable price and most are better than this. This is not a criticism of the builder in any way and I thank him for taking the time and effort to review this kit for us. All the best
