Hi All,
I have had a break of some years from modelling but have recently got back into it with a couple of armor builds and a couple of quick 1/72 aviation builds.
I'm about to start my first big project - Dragons Ta154 Mistel FW190 combo.
Before I started I was wondering if you guys could recommend any AM goodies? Or offer any advice - Is there any canopy masks available for this kit? If so which are the better ones?
Thank you for your time.

I have built this project previously though not this kit manu. This is a paper project so use your imagination. Aftermarket sets are available for both units. Nose weights are strongly suggested. To make it some what accurate place the kits decals on the 154 then paint over them. If the 190 has upward firing guns remove them, never happened. (silly if you think of it)As for unit markings KG 200 was involved with mistel project.

All the canopy frame lines are straight lines, so you shouldn't need anything more complicated than thin strips of masking tape

Thank you both,
Yes some research is seriously in order here - I know nothing of the project so that will be a good start.
Checking he instructions as soon as I get home. It's actually daunting to not be totally confined by reality for once.
Thanks Trevor, thanks Jessica.

As with any model of a Ta 154 add plenty of nose weight, with the Mistel version of the Ta 154 and its short nose it might be problem finding room for the ballest, you can use the forward part of the engine nacelles as a place to stash weights but you will need a lot of it.

Ok will make this a blog and get started ASAP. Going to be slow going as got a job interview next week and a potential career move - but hell I'm going to need the distraction.
What do you recomend for ballast ? I have some very small lead shot and blu tack?
Thank u

Mix the lead shot into a lump of Milliput. It holds securely, and the Milliput adds some weight of its own.

Steve,
The Ta 154 will need some serious weight towards the front to get it to balance, I used some large chunks of lead on mine.
To secure the weights in place Jessica's idea is good, I just used a small amount of 5 minute two-part epoxy to secure the lead weights.
