An appeal for help on behalf of Ray Thomas at Vintage Fighter Series.

Just off the phone from chatting with Ray Thomas.

Ray reports that he has a batch of new releases ready to go.

The P-47M version will include a biography sheet signed by Russell Kyler of the 61st FS, 56th FG.

Everything is ready to go for the new release but with one problem.

The kits have arrived with one of the smaller sprues missing!.

Attempts to trace this sprue at the pressing plant are proving frustrating and Ray does not have a complete example of the sprue.

One option being looked into is make a mould from an existing sprue, ( Its the sprue containing the cockpit sides), and cast it in resin. This will enable the kit to released in the very near future, and this is where Aeroscale comes in.

Do you have a VFS P-47 sitting in your stash that you would be willing to loan to Ray so he can cast the missing sprue?

If you would be willing to do this please PM me and I will pass on Rays contact details.
Purely for geographical and postage reasons it will be preferable to source a kit from the UK.

Please help if you can.

VFS now have the missing sprue and can continue getting the next P-47 kit ready for release sooner rather than later.
Watch this space for more news as it becomes available.

Thankyou everybody for the offers of help, literally from around the world!

Just a thought, but maybe Ray could try Kickstarter to get the funding to produce the spitfire kits?

Hi Nigel,

I trawled through various emails on the site to find a link for VFS. I've been contacted by someone whose granddaughter has spilled a chemical across a P47 decal sheet (VFS) and they are trying to get a replacement.

Do you have Ray Thomas's contact detail, or could you forward this to him?

Thanks

Rob Pollock

Hi Rob.
I was contacted by someone who has had a VFS decal sheet damaged in the same way and have forwarded them the email address for Ray at VFS.
That was on the 24th and looking at my Message Settings the PM reply has not been read yet.

Most likely the same person, although I'm pretty sure the decals damaged were for the P-40 kit?

All the best,

Nige

Good news just arrived at P-47 Heaven HQ direct from VFS.

Firstly, Ray has suffered a major computer failure a while back and is only just getting re established. As anyone who runs a one man business, alongside working full time and supporting a family knows, things often take longer to acomplish then they would do ideally.

VFS new email address is
[email protected]

Big news, literally, is that the release of the VFS P-47M kit is looking good for happening very soon.
Ray has just the last couple of days sourced boxes for the kits,( yes, even sourcing boxes takes time and of course money)
It is hoped that the VFS P-47M will be available in a couple of months. Fingers crossed, and Ray is keeping up to date on an almost weekly basis now so I'll pass on the information as I recieve it.

As a taster, this is the boxart for the kit.
