"Sad news from Toronto - Second World War Spitfire pilot Arthur Bishop has passed away at age 89. The only son of First World War flying ace Billy Bishop, Arthur served with 401 Squadron. He was also the co-founder and director of the Canadian Fighter Pilots Association, as well as director of the Canadian International Air Show. Arthur also authored a number of books, including The Courage of The Early Morning, a biography of his father. A tribute to Arthur, written by his son Bill, can be found at http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs173/1103538824638/archive/1112488530007.html#.UR_AGQNSg2E.facebook."

Hi Stephen
Thanks for posting this. Bill's tribute makes for very poignant reading. A rich life, summed up fittingly by Arthur's own parting comment in the video about his father, Billy Bishop: "Serve your country, serve your family, do what you can and do the best you can - that's all you can do."
All the best
Rowan

Very kind words Rowan, thank you. As a Canadian I am very proud and thankful for what he and other Canadians who served as he did to contribute to my future. God bless him and his family.
