Hi all,
I have just finished an Eduard Yak-3 from an older boxing (without photo etched parts). I have built it together with the new kit from Zvezda (in the background on the first picture). The Latter one is finer but the one from Eduard easier to build. I can't show picture of the Zvezda model because a build article will be published in Tamiya Magazine France, sorry about that...

Fantastic work! I just got this kit cheap off the internet and your build wants me get at it right away.
So many kits, so little time...
Cheers!

Great build, Jean-Luc!!!
I thought you did not want to build a french pilot on the Zvezda kit? Anyway, I like both models .. even if we will have the same markings (though mine won't be ready for Siegen)
cheers

Very good Jean-Luc. Fantastic choice of colours for the camouflage. I agree that this kit is one of the easiest out there in quarter scale. Cheap and fast to built with no real issues.

Nice work, love the detail on the weathering. I just started again and was wondering what color you used for the exaust down the side of the plane?

Hi Jean-Luc
Lovely job! I expect no less when it's one of yours. I particularly like the weathering on the cowl panels, showing plenty of wear without being overdone.
All the best

Very beautiful model indeed!
The pilot and his raised arm are a nice addition and the three colored spinner just looks flawless, impressive. I think the weathering is perfect, not overdone, but also nothing like a factory fresh machine. This bird has seen some action.
Will the Zveda also be posted on Aeroscale after publication?

Hi all,
Thank you for your kind words...
It was the contrary. I had to do a french one for the French edition of Tamiya Magazine and now I have two: Albert and Delfino. But I still have three Eduard and One Zvezda Yak-3 in the stash so the next ones will be soviets for sure...
Sam, the exhaust stains were done with Tamiya pastels (Black, Soot, Rust). Some weathering effects were done with Faber-Castell Pitt B Artists pens. Great stuff and very versatile.
Jelger, I'm afraid not in the neat future.
