Just wondering a little about the options about this mark of Spitfire. I know about Special Hobbys kit, but I'm not over excited about short run kits. And then the option about converting Tamiyas Vb. So far I have found C-wings from Airwaves and from MDC. Have tried the Airwaves on a previous kit but how is the MDC kit compared to these? Or should I wait and see how Italeri's kit turns out? But when will it be released?
So, any opinions on the subject is welcomed. I'm kinda leaning towards converting the Tamiya kit, but it isn't the cheapest option...

If you can do the work necessary to convert the Tamiya kit, you have all the skills needed to do the Special Hobby. It's really not a horrid kit at all.

Have previous bad experiences from short run kits, that's why I'm a little scared of them. Or perhaps that I'm to impatient to put down the work needed. And frankly, the previous work I did on the Tamiya kit wasn't the best, a huge gap, and once again because om impatience

Okay, I can appreciate being wary. The Special Hobby kit is a good one to use to acquire the skills necessary. Take your time, measure twice, cut once and all that and before you know it you'll be the proud owner of a Spit Vc. Here's Rowan's review.

Another option would be to convert the Airfix MkXII kit , simple matter of removing the Griffon nose and replacing it with a Merlin from a Mk Vb kit , modify the rudder and you have a Vc. Probably easier than changing a Vb wing to a Vc.

Why not consider using the Montex Vc wing conversion? It is well molded with fine detail and comes with stencils for two Spits, four cannon and hub and propellers.

I know about this conversion, but still haven't been able to find any store that actually has it. That's why I didn't mention it.

No wonder I didn't find the Montex wings, I was looking for a conversion set, not a mask set... Found it on lots of sites now...
