I found this pic of a British corsair in India and thought what a cool dio it would make. Does anyone know it there are any elephants available in 1/48 scale? lol

Hi Martin
That would be a great diorama! :-)
Do Britains still do their 1/32 scale animals? Maybe a baby elephant would scale out to 1/48 !
Otherwise check out Preiser - I think they do animals in 1/43 and 1/50 - but elephants?... I don't know. 4D modelshop sell Preiser figures, so they may be worth checking out.
All the best
Rowan

Hmm. Interesting pic there, Martin, thanks :-)!
I think this picture has been taken in Kerala, South India. I did meet up with a WWII RIAF pilot , Mr Neville Gill, who explained that Corsairs arrived late in India, near the end of the war, and could not be deployed in time.
After the war, when the US fleet pulled out of harbour off the Indian coast, seems these Corsairs were bulldozed by the dozen off the decks!! Sheesh! What a waste...
It seems the US Navy did not want to give those planes free of cost to the Indians/Brits after the war, since India was just then clamouring for Independence, and neither the Brits had the cash, after a exhaustive war, nor could the nascent Indian government afford these so immediately after the war. Or who knows, you could have had some Indian marking Corsairs too !
